Our panel and the audience will work together to develop an understanding of forces leading to the Ukraine war, to propose steps towards ending the war, to identify contributions which Australian parliamentarians, media & citizens can make to achieve a lasting peace with justice.

  • “Triggers for war” Why and how did this war occur – Emeritus Professor Graeme Gill, Dept. of Govt. & International Relations, University of Sydney.
  • “Australian media coverage” What do they say, what do they enable a public to know? –Dr. Jake Lynch, Department of Peace & Conflict Studies, University of Sydney.
  • “Beyond Catastrophes” Channels to prevent or end wars – Dr. Sue Wareham, Medical Association for Prevention of War.
  • “Consequences of war, visions for peace” In Ukraine, Russia & world wide, carnage, consequences, visions for peace – Professor Emeritus Joe Camilleri, Conversation at the Crossroads.
